Too Numb...

Today’s post was supposed to be all about the adventures that Bethany and I had at Brownie Camp over the weekend, complete with pictures, details of snow and rain and slight flood tragedies at the camp... but everything turned upside down this morning when my Mom called to tell me that my grandfather was found dead this morning when the staff went to wake him. A blessing really, but I still feel numb. Chats with family helped as we get ready to turn what would have been the weekend of his 95th birthday into a memorial service over his ashes.

Then... I meant to sit down and write a post about my grandfather... but I have to hold everything together until tomorrow night after the last meeting at church. Then, I think I will find a nice piece of Brie and a good glass of red wine (since I can’t really abide his favourite Port & Stilton cheese combination) and say my first goodbyes to my grandfather. This is the end of an era.

Jennifer,
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. I think the wine and cheese tribute is a wonderful idea. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...

Jennifer, I am very sorry for your loss. Although I am sure he lived a long and very memorable life - it is always too soon to say goodbye, somehow. I think your plans for your own personal good bye is a good one. And I'm sure we'd all love to hear more about him, if you'd care to share.
*hugs*

My sympathy to your whole family, especially Bethany & Erin. When the numb passes, please let us know how everything went - including Brownie camp.

So sorry to hear about your loss, I lost my grandad a year ago and know how hard it is.
But in my heart I believe my son now has another guardian angel to look out for him. And you and your girls have another guardian dragon watching over you.

I'm sorry to hear this, Jennifer. It is hard to lose a loved one. My biggest regret with my grandfather is he never got to meet his great-grandchildren. He would have had a ball with them and they would have learned so much from him.

Just remember we are all thinking about you.
